How to buy and sell crypto with Swapbox
With Swapbox, you can buy and sell crypto in a decentralized way. You can use the Swapbox with a hot wallet but you can also print a paper wallet. In some countries, you can only buy crypto with a paper wallet due to legislation.
1.
On the screen, tap on BUY CRYPTO. Select the network and the currency you want to purchase.
2.
Scan your public adress QR code. For paper wallet, you still have to scan your public address after the machine printed your wallet.

You need cash (banknotes) and a crypto wallet to use Swapbox. If you don't know how to use a wallet, here are some interactive resources: Ethereum wallets. To find a good wallet, you can visit this page: Find an Ethereum wallet
With Swapbox, you can buy crypto using only decentralized infrastructure. No banks, no centralized exchanges, no onramp services. You can buy and sell any token available on Ethereum.
The fees are defined by the operator of the Swapbox, not us. The fee rates usually depend on the operator's fixed and variable costs. As a Swapbox kit is cheaper than a classic crypto ATM and we do not take a cut on transaction fees, operators can set their fee rates lower than the competition.
Swapbox is connected to a decentralized exchange. That means that you can technically buy any token available on that exchange: We do not limit what token you can buy. However, the operator can limit the asset choices to be sure that his customers are not scammed by buying any shitcoin.
There are plenty of wallets available with plenty of features. Use this guide How to find the right wallet for you to find the perfect wallet for your use case.
The operators can set transaction limits. Some jurisdictions force the operators to set limits.
By default, Swapbox cannot pursue KYC (know your customer). On-demand, we may develop KYC modules for operators. A Swapbox machine only needs your public address to send you your crypto assets.
Transactions on Ethereum can be slow. That is why we settle transactions on zkSync Era, which is much faster (and cheaper). The transaction usually takes less than a minute to settle.
In the future, we will develop a Swapbox Map, where operators who want can register their Swapbox.
You need to contact the operator of the Swapbox. Usually, that information can be found on the Swapbox itself.
No. You can only buy and sell crypto with cash (banknotes) on Swapbox. If you have a credit/debit card, you may want to use another solution to buy and sell crypto.
